In April 2007 Northwest AEA invited Mary Jo Langhorne to Northwest AEA to share information about the new teacher librarian requirements. Mary Jo has 26 years experience as a building teacher librarian. For eight of those years she served as the Media and Technology Coordinator for the Iowa City Community School Disrict which received the National School Library Media Program of the Year award. Currently Mary Jo is an adjunct professor in the School of Library and Information Science at the University of Iowa. Since 1999, she has done consulting and training in the area of school programs. Mary Jo also worked on the committee which recommended guidelines to the Iowa Department of Education for the new teacher librarian requirement.
